Chesham RFC receives £10,000 grant

Rugby enthusiasts from around Chesham will soon sport a new social area thanks to a £10,000 grant from the Paradigm Foundation.

Chesham Rugby Club, who oversees more than 20 rugby teams including three men’s teams, a women’s team, a mix of youth and children’s teams, and a netball team, will use the grant to help fund their new clubhouse. The build is planned to commence in June 2017.

Jane Harrison, Trustee of the Foundation said: “The Paradigm Foundation was formed to help out projects like Chesham Rugby Club’s. It is a great example of how sport can bring people together – whether it’s playing, volunteering or socialising.”

Rocky Clark, Prop for the England Women’s Rugby team – and most-capped player in England international history with over 120 caps, coaches the men’s first team. She said: “Our new clubhouse will not only help to strengthen the local community, it will allow more local people to be involved in sport and meet others who also have a mutual interest.

“On behalf of everyone involved in the club, thank you to the Paradigm Foundation for helping to get this fantastic project over the line.”

The Foundation has awarded over £1.0m in grants since forming in 2013, helping to improve the lives of individuals and communities across the Paradigm Housing Group’s geographical area.
