Improving careers with the Foundation

Posted on the 23rd June 2016

Bobbie and Daniel, who have lived in their Paradigm home in Watford for more than eight years, had both reached the stage where they needed to do further training for their jobs.“I work as a nanny and have to pay for all the certificates I need” says Bobbie, who has two children of her own. “My Paradigm grant paid for me to do my maternity nurse training just as the family I was working for had another baby so the timing was perfect.

“The extra qualification means I can stay up to date with best practice. There’s no way I could have afforded to pay for it myself so I’m really grateful to the Paradigm Foundation.”

Daniel, who was working as a Class 2 HGV driver, was keen to gain a Class 1 licence to give him better career options.

“Getting this extra qualification has allowed me to increase the money I earn which has made a huge difference to our lives” says Daniel.

And Bobbie adds: “We feel so lucky to be Paradigm residents, we’re so grateful for all the help and support we’ve had.”
