Kids in Chesham to enjoy new playground

Posted on the 23rd June 2016

The Botley Playing Fields Association (BPFA) was set up to create a new playground at Botley Road, Chesham for over 1,200 children in the local area to enjoy. The former playground, which was installed 40 years ago, has fallen into a poor state of repair and the BPFA are planning to revive it to its former glory.“This is not just about providing new play equipment for children, it’s also about providing space for the Chesham community to integrate, reducing social isolation and helping all members of the community to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful environment” said Jacqui Rice Chair of the Botley Playing Fields Association.

Jacqui said she was elated when she learnt the news that they would be receiving a grant from the Paradigm Foundation.

“This grant has had a significant impact on our fundraising efforts. It is excellent that the Paradigm Foundation recognises our hard work and allows us to finalise our plans which will allow children in Chesham to have access to better playing facilities.

“We are working together with others in the community to achieve something great, that will improve the community, and this grant has given the project real credibility and is really positive, exciting news.”

The project will include the installation of the new playground in Spring 2016 and will reach many Paradigm residents in the local area.

Chair of the Paradigm Foundation, Mike Gahagan, said: “This project will really improve the local area and be a much-needed focal point for local families. The Association has already achieved a great deal and we are delighted to be able to support this worthwhile project.”
