Paradigm Foundation grant supports new cycle trail for children

Posted on the 2nd May 2019

A grant of £10,000 has prompted not only a thank you letter from London Youth charity but an invitation to visit their Summer Fun Day on 1 June at Woodrow High House near Amersham.

The money is going towards the cost of materials and labour for a new all weather cycle trail at Woodrow High House. We are delighted to support this great charity, that focuses on giving young Londoners the chance to experience the great outdoors, an opportunity they might not otherwise have had.

London Youth supports and challenges young people to become the best they can be. They provide opportunities outside education for young people to have fun with their friends, to be healthy and creative, to make positive change in their communities, and to shape the kind of city they want for the future.

The opportunities they provide are through their network of community youth organisations and at two residential centres, one of which is Woodrow High House. They encourage young people to take part in sports development and outdoor education schemes, employability programmes, youth action and arts.

Fiona Humphries, Bursar for London Youth, commented: “We are very grateful for Paradigm’s donation of £10,000 towards Woodrow’s cycle trail project. This award was crucial in leveraging funding from other organisations.

“The contractors building the site, Architrail, are currently constructing the bespoke trail for children and young people visiting Woodrow as well as the local community.

“We plan to open the trail officially at our Summer Fun Day on Saturday 1 June and everyone is welcome to come along. Thank you again for your support”.

About the Summer Fun Day

Why not go along to this free fun family day out!

You can experience outdoors activities, adventure and sport, with live music, local food and market-style stalls.

Rarely open to the public, the fun day gives you a chance to visit the 17th century manor house and grounds and learn more about what they do at Woodrow and the London Youth charity.

Everyone is welcome, children, families, friends and dogs (on leads)!
